Kathmandu. The secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is being held  on Saturday (today). On Friday, there had been an understanding between party Chair duo Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on calling the secretariat meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 4 pm at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar. Executive Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal is dissatisfied with the PM’s decision of making political appointments singlehandedly, going against the mandate of the party’s permanent committee and the secretariat.

The Madhav Nepal faction of NCP, on the other hand, suspects of being sidelined by the alliance of both chairs. Nepal posits that the mentality of supremacy of the chair duo, putting themselves above the party, hinders the process of problem solving within the party.

Nepal has his reservation over the appointments of chief secretary and envoys to different countries made by the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday.
