No confidence motion against Karnali CM Shahi rejected by majority

Kathmandu. The vote of no confidence registered at the Karnali Provincial Assembly  against chief minister and the parliamentary party leader of the  Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has been rejected by majority. The NCP parliamentary party meeting of the Karnali Provincial Assembly held at Birendranagar on Friday.refused the vote of no confidence against CM Shahi.

18 members present at the meeting voted against the motion of no confidence. 8 NCP members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) of Karnalif under the leadership of Yam Lal Kandel had  registered the motion of no confidence against CM Shahi on October 4.

Out of 33 NCP MPAs of the Karnali Provincial Assembly, 18 had pledged support for the vote of no confidence in the beginning, three belonging to the former Maoist faction and seven to the Madhav Nepal faction of NCP. The issue of vote of no confidence went through several twists and turns and seems to have settled eventually.
