‘RAW chief visited Nepal as special envoy of Modi’: Ishwor Pokhrel

Kathmandu. The Deputy Prime Minister, Ishwor Pokhrel, has given an explanation regarding the recent Nepal visit of the Chief of Indian Intelligence Agency, known as the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Samant Kumar Goel. Pokhrel through his social media handle on Facebook revealed that the RAW director was here after receiving the approval of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pokhrel has said that the Indian Embassy in Nepal did the necessary media arrangements and made the visit official. He also claimed that the details of the meeting between Samant Kumar Goel, Chief of RAW and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was noted and has been safely kept by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). He further commented that the meeting consisted of discussions regarding the changing Nepal-India relations, border disputes and focused on the peaceful resolution of the issue.

Lastly, he has mentioned that the freedom, sovereignty and self-respect of Nepal shall not be compromised. His Facebook status also revealed that they would not do anything that is against the benefit of the nation, adding that the public should support the righteous works of the government.
