Teen who was in coma for 62 days awakens upon hearing the name of his favorite food
Kathmandu. An 18-year-old teen in Taiwan has miraculously awakened upon hearing the name of his favorite food. The teen, named Chiu is a resident of Hsinchu County in Taiwan. He met with an accident on his scooter and suffered multiple damage to his organs.
According to an article in the Taiwan News, he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Ton Yen General Hospital. The Director of the hospital, Hsieh Tsung-hsin has stated that he had multiple organ damages and they performed six surgeries upon him. Doctors were able to stabilize his situation but he fell into deeper coma.
After 62 days in coma, his brother visited the hospital and mentioned that he was about to eat his brother’s favorite food- ‘chicken fillet’. Just after saying that, he suddenly saw movements in his brother and immediately called the doctors. Chiu then regained consciousness slowly after his vitals began to stabilize.
He is now fully recovered and has been discharged from the hospital.
