Kathmandu. According to a South Korean intelligence agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has imposed strict rules to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The North Korean leader has banned fishing in the sea, along with ordering death penalty for at least two people for violating the rules.

According to an article in CBS News, the capital Pyongyang has imposed a lockdown. The Kim government has also instructed foreign diplomats not to engage in any activity that could provoke the United States, as Kim is concerned about the possible approach of US President-elect Joe Biden towards North Korea.

One of the lawmakers, Ha Tae-keung, was quoted saying Kim is displaying “excessive anger” and taking “irrational measures” over the pandemic and its economic impact. North Korea has also banned fishing and salt production at sea to prevent the virus from spreading from seawater.
