Nepali Congress office-bearers’ meeting called post Tanahu incident

Kathmandu. After the Tanahu incident, in which Senior leader of the party Ram Chandra Poudel was harassed by the government, the main opposition party Nepali Congress has called a meeting. Congress Joint General Secretary Dr. Prakash Saran Mahat revealed that a meeting of office bearers has been called to discuss upon the issue.

Senior Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel, who arrived at Byas Municipality in Tanahu on Wednesday to inaugurate a bridge, was arrested by the police. Poudel, who could not inaugurate the bridge on Wednesday, inaugurated it on Thursday. He is returning to Kathmandu on Friday.

There has been a lot of criticism of the government on this issue. The Nepali Congress had called Poudel’s arrest a sign of totalitarianism. On Thursday, there were various anti-government demonstrations led by the cadres of the NC in many districts.
