All-party meeting today : govt criticized, PM urges republican forces to be united

Kathmandu. In the all-party meeting held at Baluwatar today, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called upon all to be united for protecting federal democratic republicanism achieved through people’s struggle. He also made it clear that anti-constitutional activities would not be tolerated in any pretext

The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) criticized the government’s style of running the affairs of the nation and  blamed the government for not being able to work as per the desire of the people

The demonstrations in the streets were just voices of dissatisfaction raised by the people. If the government corrected its course of action, things would begin falling in right places, NC commented.

In the three-hour long meeting discussions were made on the recent political developments, relationships with neighboring nations and the latest political demonstrations by the pro-monarchy forces.

There were discussions on the prevention of COVID-19, safeguarding of the achievements of the democratic movement and anti-constitutional activities, among other contemporary issues, press advisor to the PM, Surya Thapa, said.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) demanded for a democracy  that included the king and incorporated Hinduism as the state religion. None of the participants responded to the demands of RPP leader Dipak Bohra though.

Present in the meeting were ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, President of the main opposition party Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Ministers, the chiefs and representatives of various parties.
