Guo Yezhou, Vice minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China

Kathmandu, December 27 : Vice minister of Communist Party of China (CPC) Guo Yezhou has arrived in Kathmandu leading a four members delegation. He landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 1:15 pm.

Guo went straight to the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu from the TIA. Sources said that he will be active in political meetings after some time.

He came to the capital amid the new political development in Nepal after the split of the ruling party in Nepal and the dissolution of the parliament that had ensued.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi has intensified meetings with Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders Prachanda, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Krishna Bahadur Mahara and others. Earlier, she had met President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Ambassador Yanqi had been active whenever there had been serious disputes within the NCP in the past. The abrupt visit of a high-ranking official of the CPC at the time of current crisis in the NCP, and Nepal as a whole, is being taken as a matter of curiosity and concern in the political circle.

An agreement had been reached between the then united NCP  and the Communist Party of China dome time back  to maintain fraternal relations between the two parties.
