Samsung Chief Jailed again for 2017 Corruption case

Kathmandu, January 18. On Monday, The Seoul High Court in South Korea sentenced Lee Jae-Yong for 2.5 years in Jail. 52-year-old Lee Jae-Yong is the vice-chairman and the de facto chief of Samsung business empire.

Earlier in 2017, Lee was jailed for 5 years for convicting bribery to the former South Korean President Park Geun-Hye. Lee’s sentence was reduced and he was released on appeal. But, the case was then sent back to the Seoul High Court which sent him back to jail on Monday.

Lee’s father, Lee Kun-hee was the richest man in South Korea who died in October 2020.
