Toshiba president resigns amid acquisition talks

Kathmandu, April 14. Nobuaki Kurumatani, President of Tokyo-based Toshiba has given his resignation amid acquisition talks of the company.
Toshiba has received a $20 billion buyout bid from a private equity firm, CVC Capital Partners. CVC was Kurumatani’s former employer. The company is yet to respond to the proposal.
The reason for the resignation has not been revealed by the company.
Shares of Toshiba were up more than 6% in Asian morning trading on Wednesday following media reports of potential rival bids for the company.
