Government permits 43 teams to climb Everest this spring

Kathmandu, April 30. The Department of Tourism on Friday released a report in which it is stated that the authority has given permissions for 43 teams to scale Mt. Everest this spring season.

According to the report, a total of 408 members including 93 women received permission for the Mt. Everest expedition. Similarly, 14 teams are allowed to climb Mt. Lhotse, 5 teams for Dhaulagiri, and 4 teams for Mt. Annapurna.

Department Director Meera Acharya told RSS that the Everest expedition was halted last year. But, this year the spring expedition is expected to begin by next week if the weather remains favorable. Meanwhile, most of the teams have already reached the base camp and are waiting for the ascend.
