Japan is introducing “vaccine passport” for travellers

Kathmandu, June 17. The Government of Japan has decided to introduce “vaccine passports” from mid-july.

The decision was made in order to support the smooth reopening of international business travels and other economic activities.

Local municipalities are directed to prepare for the distribution of certificates to regular passport holders. The certification shall be based on the government’s vaccination registry.

Media reports suggest that the certificate will include information such as the holder’s name, nationality, passport number along with vaccination details.
