Rescuers getting prepared for flood, Mock Practice in Karnali

Kathmandu, June 23. With the objective of enhancing the effectiveness of emergency rescue operations, Bardiya’s Disaster Management Committee in collaboration with national security agencies conducted a “ flood-induced damage control event” near Daulatpurghat along the Karnali river corridor. 

Nepali Army Armed Police Force and Nepal Police provided technical rescue assistance whereas, the Nepal Red Cross Society practiced emergency first aid to the injured characters of the event.

The event was guided by the District Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan, 2021, and Monsoon Early Warning Action Plan. 

Chief District Officer and District Disaster Management Committee Bardiya coordinator Santa Bahadur Sunar told RSS that the session would help make early preparation for search and rescue of flood survivors in emergency times.
