Kathmandu, July 30. Singer Yogeshwor Amatya has gifted a telescope to the Chhauni-based Panchakanya Secondary School.

The decision to provide the optical instrument to the school was to inspire students to pursue an interest in astronomy and space science, it is said.

The instrument was handed by Nepal Astronomical Society Chair Suresh Bhattarai to school principal Rupa Manandhar on Thursday.

On the occasion, Dr Bhattarai pledged continuous support to the school administration and students to explore astronomical knowledge and skills.  As the Society said, it will continue to provide telescope to schools free of cost in support of donors in the days ahead, too.
