Kathmandu, October 5. A Federal court of San Francisco has ordered Tesla, Inc. to compensate 130 million US dollars to a former black worker who was subjected to racial abuse at the company’s perimeter.

In 2015 and 2016, Owen Diaz was employed as a contract-based elevator operator at Tesla’s Fremont factory, where Diaz faced discrimination for being a black man.

Diaz complained about the harassment several times but the tech giant did little to address the problem.

On Sunday, the jury accepted a lawsuit filed by Diaz and asked Tesla to pay $130 million for punitive damages and $6.9 million for emotional anguish.
