Minor shocks won’t pose threats to banking system: NRB Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari
Kathmandu, April 12. The Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Maha Prasad Adhikari, assured on Tuesday that Nepal’s banks are currently safe and sound.
While speaking at a press conference organized by the NRB, Governor Adhikari highlighted the positive changes in the fiscal indicators, which signaled the overall safety and soundness of the banks. He also presented the eight month report, “Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation of Nepal”.
Additionally, Governor Adhikari addressed concerns over liquidity crunch, reassuring the public that such issues will not persist in the banks and financial institutions in the short term. “This positive outlook is attributed to the central bank’s prudential regulations, which have led to a positive growth in the fiscal indicators,” he said.
