Kathmandu, Jan 1: An agreement has been reached between the government and the families of the deceased in the Balkumari incident in Lalitpur. The discussion on Monday between government representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the families resulted in a four-point agreement. The families of the deceased will be offered suitable jobs, additional relief will be provided beyond the government’s assistance, the Ministry of Home Affairs will request the declaration of Birendra Shah and Sujan Raut as martyrs, and the bodies will be handed over to the families, with arrangements made to transport them to their home districts. The incident occurred last Friday during a protest at the EPS Korea branch office, resulting in two deaths.
