Bangladesh Secures Victory Over Nepal in ICC U-19 World Cup Super Six Match

Kathmandu, Jan 31: In the Super Six stage of the ICC U-19 World Cup cricket tournament, Nepal faced a defeat against Bangladesh, losing by 5 wickets in a closely contested match on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 170 runs for victory, Bangladesh successfully reached the mark, losing 5 wickets in 25.2 overs. Jeesan Alam and Ariful Islam were the standout performers for Bangladesh, both scoring half-centuries. Alam contributed 55 runs off 43 balls, while Islam played a quick inning of 59 runs off 38 balls. Suwash Bhandari from Nepal managed to take 5 wickets.

Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Nepal posted a total of 169 runs, losing all wickets in 49.5 overs. Vishal Vikram KC emerged as the highest scorer for Nepal, accumulating 48 runs. Captain Dev Khanal scored 35 runs, Suwash Bhandari contributed 18 unbeaten runs, and Arjun Kumal added 14 runs to the total.

On the bowling front, Rohanat Dowlah Borsan claimed four wickets, Sheikh Pravez Jiwan took three wickets, while Iqbal Hussain Imon, Maruf Mridha, and Zeeshan Alam secured one wicket each. The match showcased competitive performances from both sides in the U-19 cricket competition.
