Kathmandu, Mar 24: In a significant development, Tribhuvan University has decided to prepare graduation-level question papers in both Nepali and English languages for the annual examination system. This decision aims to address the concerns of stakeholders and ensure fairness and accessibility for all students.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the academic council standing committee of the university held on March 15. Starting from the upcoming first-year examinations, question papers will be available in both Nepali and English languages. This practice will then be extended to subsequent years, including second, third, and fourth-year examinations.

The university’s Information and Public Relations Division shared that stakeholders had been advocating for question papers in Nepali due to the previous practice of preparing them only in English. It was observed that some students faced difficulties comprehending questions in English, leading to impacts on their exam performance and results.

By offering question papers in both languages, Tribhuvan University aims to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for students, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder their academic progress. This decision aligns with efforts to promote quality education and enhance learning outcomes for all students across different faculties.

The university’s proactive step in addressing this issue reflects its commitment to providing equitable opportunities and facilitating a conducive learning environment. Students and educators welcome this move as it promotes fairness, understanding, and improved performance in examinations.

As the new policy takes effect, students can expect a smoother and more accessible examination process, empowering them to demonstrate their knowledge and skills effectively regardless of their preferred language of instruction.
