Kathmandu, Apr 29: Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is currently in Beijing, where he aims to persuade Chinese authorities to allow the sharing of driving data collected by Tesla in China for global use.

Tesla has been gathering driving data locally in China, and now Musk seeks to expand its utilization globally to train algorithms for autonomous vehicles.

Analysts highlight the significance of China’s diverse driving conditions for refining the algorithms of self-driving cars.

However, this move comes amidst tensions between the US and China, with the US government scrutinizing Chinese-owned companies like ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, over privacy concerns.

While Tesla faces competition in the global market, reports suggest the company plans to reduce its workforce by 10%, partly attributed to sluggish vehicle sales.
