Nepal Advances to SAFF Women’s Championship Semi-Finals as Group Winner

Kathmandu, Oct 24: Nepal has advanced to the semi-finals of the ongoing SAFF Women’s Championship in Kathmandu after emerging as the Group B winner. In their final group-stage match, Nepal secured a commanding 6-0 victory over Sri Lanka.

Rekha Paudel netted two goals for Nepal, while Savitra Bhandari, Amisha Karki, Sabita Rana Magar, and Rashmi Rana Magar each scored one goal.

With this win, Nepal tops Group B with 7 points from 3 matches. Bhutan, also with 7 points from 4 games, advanced to the semi-finals as the group runner-up based on goal difference.

Sri Lanka and Maldives, however, were eliminated from Group B. Nepal will face Group A runner-up India in the semi-finals, while Bhutan will take on Group A winner Bangladesh. Both semi-final matches are scheduled for October 27.
