Kathmandu, Feb 21: Pakistan has suffered a major setback ahead of their crucial ICC Champions Trophy match against India, as star batter Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out due to a back injury.
The much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash is scheduled for February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Fakhar, known for his strong performances against India, played a key role in Pakistan’s previous Champions Trophy victory, scoring 114 runs in the final.
The tournament’s technical committee has approved opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq as his replacement. Fakhar sustained the injury while fielding in Pakistan’s opening match against New Zealand in Karachi.
