Police Arrest 11 Indians in Rs 3 Billion Counterfeit Currency Racket

Kathmandu, March 26: Police have arrested 11 Indian nationals involved in a counterfeit currency racket worth nearly Rs 3 billion from Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.

The arrested individuals include Sunny Mina (24), Mohit Burma (25), Pius Bhardwaj (26), Harkesh Dadaiya (25), Nishant Bhardwaj (22), Akashma (19), Saini (23), Sanju Shakla (28), Ram Singh Jath (19), Lokesh Kumar (19), and Vikash Kumar (19).

Acting on a tip-off about illegal online gambling, police raided a house in Deula Tola, Budhanilkantha Municipality-3, on Tuesday, leading to the arrests.

The Kathmandu District Court has granted a seven-day remand for further investigation.

Authorities seized 34 mobile phones, five laptops, four notebooks containing accounting records, 14 Indian bank account checkbooks, 27 Indian ATM cards, and 40 Indian SIM cards.
