Trump’s Travel Ban on 12 Countries Comes Into Effect

Kathmandu, June 9: The US travel ban on citizens from 12 countries officially came into effect on Monday following an order signed by US President Donald Trump last week.

The travel ban completely restricts entry into the United States for citizens of the following countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Myanmar
  • Chad
  • Republic of the Congo
  • Equatorial Guinea
  • Eritrea
  • Haiti
  • Iran
  • Libya
  • Somalia
  • Sudan
  • Yemen

In addition to the full ban, the US has also partially restricted entry for citizens from these seven countries:

  • Burundi
  • Cuba
  • Laos
  • Sierra Leone
  • Togo
  • Turkmenistan
  • Venezuela

The decision has sparked widespread global attention and debate, as many of the affected countries are already facing political instability or humanitarian crises.
