Bernard Arnault becomes the world’s richest person
Kathmandu, June 1. Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) owner Bernard Arnault has become the richest person in the world, surpassing Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon.
Arnault currently has a net worth of $191.1 billion compared to $187 billion of Bezos. Arnault bought $657 million worth of LVMH shares between January and May. As shares of LVMH increased, his fortune increased by $1.8 billion overnight.
Arnault started off with being the richest person in the world on Monday. But Bezos soon regained his position within a few hours after Amazon shares picked up. However, both had been buying and selling shares which caused fluctuations in their positions.
Bezos has sold $6.6 billion of his shares since he announced that he will stepping down as the CEO of Amazon.
Elon Musk had also enjoyed the top position
