Update: can confirm this is the correct number expected to be aboard… 800 souls outbound USAF C-17A RCH871 from Kabul, Afghanistan!
Thank you to @geoff_mcmaw for providing me with the information! Thank you also to the crew of C-17A 01-0186 for their amazing work! https://t.co/fhMxt0iSiJ

A C-17’s passenger carrying capacity is officially “80 on 8 pallets, plus 54 passengers on sidewall seats.” If they are carrying 800 people, then it can be imagined that the plane must be crowded.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) also packed one of their C-17s before attempting to leave Taliban sacked Kabul.
Nepal also started evacuation process
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has instructed to start for the evacuation of Nepalis from Afghanistan. PM Deuba tweeted, “I have already instructed Sunday for collection of details about presence of Nepalis in Afghanistan and to make arrangements for their rescue in case of emergency. Necessary coordination and guardianship of Nepalis waiting for safety and rescue is the government’s responsibility. The government will fulfill this responsibility with caution and gravity”.
The Foreign Ministry of Nepal has also urged Nepalis in Afghanistan to come in contact with the Nepali government through the official website so that further process for the rescue operations can be carried out.
An estimated one thousand Nepali people are to be in Afghanistan. Many Nepalis are said to have gone through illegal means.
