Landslides kill 48 in Nepal, Prime Minister orders immediate response

Kathmandu, October 20. This week, 48 people have died and 31 people went missing as a result of landslides, floods, and inundation caused by severe rain in various parts of the country.
Home Ministry spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel informed that landslides have caused the highest destruction of lives and infrastructures in Illam and Doti.

While Addressing the 8th meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba ordered the authorities to work for rescue and relief operations and assured them that the operations would not face any budget crunch.
