Kailali court sends nine men to life in prison for killing cops
Kathmandu, October 27. The District Court of Kailali has sentenced nine people to life in prison for the murder of two police officers in Jugeda Village.
Rajendra Rana, Rohit Rana, Raj Kumar Rana, Suresh Rana, Ram Niwas Rana, Dalaram Rana, Rohit Rana and Ram Gopal Rana of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City were sentenced by a single bench of Justice Jayananda Paneru.
On October 17 last year, Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Govinda BK and police constable Ram Bahadur Saud suddenly disappeared while they were on a patrol along the Nepal-India border. Their bodies were later discovered on the banks of the Mohana River.
The Nepal Police investigative committee discovered that two policemen were murdered when they stumbled across a group of people attempting to smuggle food through the open border.
