Jaishankhar holds talk with secretary of foreign affairs of Philippines

Kathmandu, February 14. Minister of External Affairs for India, S Jaishankar held talks with his Philippines counterpart Teodoro L Locsin on Monday.
Their discussion ranged from issues of mutual national security and development. Philippines had signed a US$ 375 million deal with India to buy three batteries of the BrahMos cruise missile two weeks earlier.
The two ministers are expected to discuss to strengthen bilateral ties along with matters of global concern.
Indian minister Jaishankar tweeted, “Held productive discussions with FM @teddyboylocsin of Philippines. We are entering a new phase of our partnership. Its basis is the mutuality of national security and development aspirations. Our conversation covered a range of issues dealing with both”
“Expect to take forward a shared agenda through sustained engagement. Thank you @teddyboylocsin for a warm welcome and generous hospitality”, he shared another tweet.
The three day visit by the Indian foreign minister is said to focus on issues of mutual interest along with imparting momentum with relations with countries in the Indo Pacific, Australia and Philippines.
