Ward Chair Enrolls 61 Households in Health Insurance Scheme
Muglin, July 22: Rudraprasad Upreti, the Ward Chair of Ichchyakamana rural municipality-4, has taken a remarkable step by contributing his salary to provide health insurance to 61 households in his ward.
While speaking at the event, Ward Chair Upreti shared that he has enlisted 61 impoverished households in the government-run health insurance scheme. He further added, “To fulfill the pledge made during the election, I am pleased to contribute my salary towards providing health insurance to these households.”
On Friday, Upreti handed over a cheque amounting to Rs. 213,000 to the insurance board, which will be utilized under the health unit of the rural municipality to support the health insurance initiative.
It is the rural municipality’s vision to extend free health insurance coverage to 10 percent of the economically disadvantaged citizens, as expressed by Rural Municipality Chair Dan Bahadur Gurung.
Krishna Prasad Silwal, a Provincial Assembly member, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and regarded this act as an exemplary work carried out by a representative of the people.
Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Chief of District Coordination Committee Chitwan, emphasized that it is the solemn duty of every public representative to work in alignment with the aspirations and desires of the people.
