Thailand Clinches Women’s T20 Series Title, Nepal Ends Winless

Kathmandu, Feb 7: Thailand emerged victorious in the women’s Twenty20 series, defeating Nepal by seven wickets in the final match. With five wins and one loss, Thailand topped the six-nation series with 10 points, while the Netherlands secured second place with eight points. Nepal, having lost all six matches, finished without a single point.

Batting first, Nepal set a modest target of 82 runs, scoring 81/7 in 20 overs. Samjhana Khadka (17), Kavita Joshi (14), Rajmati Airy (11), and captain Indu Burma (10) contributed with the bat. Thailand’s Onicha Kamchomphule claimed three wickets, while Chanida Sutthiruang, Nattaya Buchatham, and Suleporn Laomi picked up one each.

Chasing the target, Thailand reached 82/3 in 17 overs, led by captain Naruimol Chaiwai’s unbeaten 27, Nannapat Khoncharoenkle’s 23, and Nattaya Buchatham’s 11. Indu Burma took two wickets, while Puja Mahato claimed one.

Earlier in the tournament, Nepal suffered three defeats against the Netherlands and two against Thailand, failing to register a single victory.
