Biratnagar Kings Defeat Karnali Yaks by Three Wickets in NPL
Kathmandu, Nov 28: Biratnagar Kings beat Karnali Yaks by three wickets in the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Friday, powered by an outstanding all-round performance from Basir Ahmed.
Chasing a target of 161 runs, Biratnagar reached 162/7 in 19.5 overs. Basir Ahmed played a match-winning innings of 62 runs off 43 balls. Narayan Joshi added a quick 25 runs off 16 balls, while Sahil Patel contributed 19 runs. Karnali’s Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha took two wickets each.
Earlier, Karnali Yaks won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 160/3 in 20 overs. Priyank Panchal top-scored with a composed 63 runs off 47 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. William Bosisto scored 48 runs and Gulshan Jha added 20 runs. Biratnagar’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Merchant Day Langley claimed one wicket each.
With this win, Biratnagar secured an important victory in the ongoing NPL season.
