World’s first 6G satellite launched

Kathmandu. China has successfully launched the world’s first 6G satellite from Taiyuan in the northwestern province of Shanxi. A Long March-6 carrier rocket took off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center on November 6.
According to a report from South China Morning Post, the 6G technology is able to provide data transmission speeds that are 100 times faster than that of 5G. The technology is expected to be utilized to develop the smart cities, disaster prevention, mitigation and environmental protection.
The satellite was launched with 12 other satellites that will expand 5G millimeter frequency into 6G terahertz frequency. The satellite was jointly developed by Chengdu Guoxing Aerospace Technology, UESTC and Beijing Minospace Technology.
