More than 700 Armenian soldiers killed in the war against Azerbaijan
BBC. The number of Armenian troops killed in the ongoing Nagorno-Karabakh war against Azerbaijan is steadily increasing. A statement released by the Armenian army mentioned that 19 soldiers had been killed on Monday alone. At least 729 Armenian soldiers have lost their lives so far.
Previously, the Armenian Defense Ministry had said the number could be insufficient as the flow of information received from the ongoing fighting was lagging. Azerbaijan, however, has not yet released details of its losses. President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview a few days ago that details of the damage would be made public after the end of the war.
Iran, meanwhile, has warned that it will retaliate if missiles or artillery shells hit Iranian soil from Karabakh. “Any attack on Iranian soil will be met with appropriate response,” said Saeed Khatibzadeh, a Spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
