18-year-old boy saved 75 people from a building collapse in Maharashtra

Kathmandu. A part of a 42-year-old building in Dombivli area of Thane district In Maharashtra in India collapsed at around 4:30 am on Thursday morning. Fortunately, 18-year-old Kunal Mohite saved the lives of all of the 18 families residing there.

Over a phone call with ANI, Kunal told that he was watching a web series on his mobile phone when he heard a sound of something falling in the kitchen. Upon checking, he saw a huge portion of the kitchen wall falling down. He immediately alerted everyone to evacuate. Minutes after everyone managed to escape, the part of the building turned into a rubble of sand and dust.

Ward Officer Bharat Pawar informed that the municipal corporation of Kalyan Dombivli had planned to move the families but, the landlord offered them a safe accommodation elsewhere. Hindustan Times reported that the building was declared unsafe by the authorities nine months ago and the families were asked to leave the building.
