Humla schools to end academic session before snowfall begins

Kathmandu. Three local levels in Humla close the schools in winter due to extreme cold. Some community schools of two of the three local levels have already published the results conducting the annual examinations.

According to National News Agency (RSS), five of the six schools in Dolpobuddha Rural Municipality have published the results.. Tashi Gomang Child Development Center, Siddharthakula Basic School and Indradhanush Basic School of ward nos. 2 and 4 have completed conducting their final examinations. Crystal Mountain School of ward no. 3 is preparing for the exam and has plans to end the session within a month.

Four schools of Chharkatangsong Rural Municipality of Upper Dolpa have also published the results conducting the final exams. The schools had been closed for three months owing to the corona pandemic.

The community schools of three rural municipalities of Upper Dolpa region begin the academic session in February/March and end the sessions conducting the final exams in October/November. This year, in the absence of assistance from the government, the exams were conducted with the help of the school management committees and the parents.

The schools of Shey-Phoksundo Rural Municipality are all set for the final exams. Bishnu Prasad Neupane, chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, informed that the students are preparing for the exams. All twelve schools of the rural municipality hope to publish the results of the exams before the snowfall begins
