100 crore CORRUPTION case against Lumbadhwoj Mahat

Kathmandu, June 23. On Wednesday, the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a 1 billion(100 crores) corruption case against the Chairman and members of the Tax Clearance Commission.

According to an official release, the accused are the then Chairman of Tax Clearance Commission, Lumba Dhwoj Mahat, and Commission members Umesh Prasad Dhakal and Chudamani Sharma.

CIAA Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Risal told RSS that the authority is seeking a recovery amount of Rs 1.3billion(130 crores) from the accused. The accused will also be subjected to imprisonment.
