Ukraine receives air defense supplies, says power situation tense

Kathmandu, November 7. Ukraine received air defense systems from its western military allies as revealed by Ukrainian officials on Monday. They said energy situation in Kyiv is ‘tense’ as Russia has attacked Ukrainian energy facilities.

Further, attacks by Moscow in Ukraine over last month has destroyed around 40% of the country’s power. The government has urged the public to save electricity.

Kyiv was used to Russian attacks for the first day of each week. But, on Monday, air raid sirens were silent. Residents say they have adapted to it.

Ukrainian defense minister Oleksiy Reznikov said along with receiving supplies from Germany, Ukraine further received National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) as well. The minister further thanked US, Norway and Spain, referring them as partners.
