Nepali National Cricket Team Secures Final Berth with Third Consecutive Victory in India Tour
Kathmandu, Apr 3: The Nepali national cricket team continues its impressive run on the India tour, clinching its third consecutive victory and securing a spot in the final of the Friendship Cup T-20 series.
In the latest match on Wednesday, Nepal secured a hard-fought 8-run victory against the Gujarat Cricket Association, marking their second win in the Friendship Cup series and third overall in the tour.
Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal posted a challenging total of 181 runs, losing 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Asif Seikh displayed stellar batting performance, scoring the highest with 85 runs, followed by Kushal Bhurtel’s 54 runs. Despite other batsmen not reaching double figures, Nepal managed a competitive score.
In response, Gujarat fought hard but fell short of the target, scoring 173 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.
Noteworthy performances came from Gujarat’s Jaymeet Patel, who claimed 3 wickets, supported by Drishant Soni and Arya Desai with 2 wickets each.
