Trump and Trudeau Hold Private Meeting in Florida
Kathmandu, Dec 1: US President-elect Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a meeting at Trump’s residence in Florida, which both described as productive.
Trump shared on Truth Social that the discussion covered significant topics such as trade and illegal immigration. Trudeau also commented on the meeting, calling it a “great conversation” but declined to answer media questions.
Later, Trudeau expressed gratitude on Instagram, posting, “President Trump, thank you for dinner. I look forward to the work we can do together again.”
The meeting occurred amidst tensions following Trump’s announcement of a 25 percent tariff on Canada earlier this week. The two leaders had also spoken by phone earlier. Notably, Trudeau’s Florida visit was not listed among his public engagements.
