Kathmandu, March 25: Police have arrested several youths who staged a protest at the southern gate of Singhadurbar, demanding the resignation of the Energy Minister.
The demonstrators, mostly from the CPN (Maoist), gathered in front of the restricted area, chanting anti-government slogans and calling for the minister’s dismissal. Police intervened and took the protesters into custody for violating security restrictions.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the arrests or any possible legal actions against the protesters.
