Bir Hospital is transforming into a 500-bedded COVID Central hospital

Kathmandu, June 2. Kathmandu-based Bir Hospital has come into operation as a dedicated COVID-19 unified central hospital. 

Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Jageshwor Gautam informed RSS that the new surgical building has 500 beds, all of which will soon come into operation. The hospital is also getting equipped with an oxygen gas generator and a liquid oxygen plant. 

Gautam also informed that the administration is preparing to add more Intensive care units(ICUs) and high dependency units(HDUs). 

At present, 125 Covid patients are receiving COVID treatment, 50 of them are under oxygen therapy.

The National Trauma Centre is also providing COVID care to 75 patients.
