Nepal Police Announces Names of Five Arrested in Kathmandu Robbery
Kathmandu, July 10. The Nepal Police on Sunday made a significant announcement during a press conference, revealing the apprehension of five individuals involved in a robbery.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Manoj Kumar KC, the arrested individuals have been identified as follows: Rabin Damai, 32, who is a resident of Likhu Rural Municipality in Ramechhap district; Rabi Bishwokarma, 18, hailing from Dharan Sub Metropolitan City-8 in Sunsari district; Umesh Chhetri, whose hometown is Panchkhal Municipality-7 in Kavrepalanchok district; Rahul Majhi, 30, who currently resides in Leguwa Rural Municipality-7 in Dhankuta district; and Shreekanta Maity, 42, originally from Paschim Mendipur in West Bengal, India.
The investigation revealed that they were involved in looting gold jewelry from various locations within the Kathmandu Valley between 5 am and 6 pm. The police confiscated the following items from the arrestees: a gold bar, a gold chain weighing approximately one tola, two motorcycles used for the robberies, six mobile phones, and a gold necklace weighing around 47 grams, as informed by SSP Dr. Manoj Kumar KC.
