Nepal Clinches Convincing Victory over Netherlands in ICC Cricket World Cup League-2

Kathmandu, Feb 18: In a commanding display of skill and determination, Nepal secured a resounding 9-wicket victory against the Netherlands in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 series.

Chasing a target of 138 runs set by the Netherlands, Nepal exhibited stellar batting prowess, effortlessly reaching the target with just one wicket down in 15.1 overs. Anil Shah and Asif Sheikh led the charge with impressive half-centuries, with Shah remaining unbeaten at 57 runs and Sheikh contributing 54 runs to Nepal’s triumph. Kushal Bhurtel also made a significant contribution with 28 runs to seal the win.

In the earlier innings, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Netherlands posted a total of 137 runs in 39 overs. Scott Edwards emerged as the top scorer for the Netherlands with 33 runs, supported by Bas de Leed with 27 runs and Sibrand Engelbrecht with 23 runs.

Nepalese bowlers showcased their prowess with Kushal Bhurtel leading the pack, claiming an impressive 4 wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi secured 2 wickets, while Sompal Kami and captain Rohit Paudel each contributed with 1 wicket.
