Kathmandu, Dec 12: Tamu Dhin Virginia will celebrate Tamu Lhochhar 2025 in Washington DC on December 30, continuing its long-standing tradition of honoring Gurung culture and heritage.

According to the Tamu Lhochhar Organizing Committee, the celebration will bid farewell to the Snake Class (Sa-Prilho) and welcome the Horse Class (Ta Lho) among the 12 classes of the Tamu (Gurung) community.

The event will feature participants dressed in traditional Gurung attire, performing cultural dances, singing original songs, enjoying traditional cuisine, and exchanging greetings. The celebration is expected to bring together not only Gurungs but also members of non-Gurung communities, reflecting harmony, mutual respect, and cultural unity.

A 61-member Main Organizing Committee for Tamu Lhochhar 2025 has been formed under the coordination of life member, whip, and spokesperson Binti Kumar Gurung, according to Secretary Thaman Gurung.

The ticket price has been set at $45 per person, while children under 10 years old will be admitted free of charge. The organization has invited all Nepali community members living around Washington DC to participate and celebrate together.

The program will be held on Tuesday, December 30, from 5:00 pm to midnight at 400 Center Street, Vienna, Virginia 22180, said Nanda Kumar Gurung, President of Tamu Dhin Virginia.
