Kathmandu. President-Elect Joe Biden had previously announced that he would introduce a 12-member task-force on Monday for combating COVID-19. As the contagion is spreading at an alarming rate across the United States of America, the President, Donald J. Trump, has downright been dismissive of the 2020 US Presidential Election results.

The CNN has reported that Trump’s campaign might be on the way to hold rallies to propagate his claims on the ballots being compromised and to contest the final outcome of the race. Despite evidence to the contrary, Trump has continued to further his assertion that the voting process and the elections, in general, may be jeopardized in some form or the other. Instead of putting a greater focus on dealing with the viral pandemic that has rattled the US, he has been completely centered on resisting the inescapable call of more than 75 million voters who have backed Biden.

In a separate report, the news agency recorded the comments of Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner, that by the time Joe Biden takes his seat at the White House, the crisis generated by COVID-19 might be unrestrained, unless policies were swiftly adopted to tackle it. Emergency physician at Brown University, Dr. Megan Ranney, further stated, “by the time that the Biden-Harris administration takes over, this virus is going to have already run rampant through the communities across the United States.”

The US has till date recorded more than 10 million COVID-positive cases. Amidst the period of uncertainty the President is continuing to refuse to concede the race, falsely maintaining on several occasions that he has won the race. Biden has his own team of legal experts and attorneys to dispute any claims rising from Trump at this point. He has mentioned that federal agents “will escort [Mr Trump] from the White House with great dispatch.”

Former New Jersey Governor, and Republican Chris Christie has reportedly told Trump to produce concrete evidence of voter fraud, or to just “move on.” “Because if you can’t show us, we can’t do this. We can’t back you blindly without evidence,” he further added.

As the pandemic has hit the country in the worst of ways, Trump’s repeated denial to accept the conclusion of the Presidential race could become more worrisome, than simply exasperating. With his supporters already conducting rallies in various cities, throughout the nation, it would fall upon Biden to calm the irritants currently present within in the domestic politics, and ensure that the nation does not encounter even more damaging loses.
