ICC to not probe into China for detainment of Muslims

Kathmandu. China reportedly detained Uighur Muslims and has been committing crimes against the minority group since a few months. A case was filed in the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding the same. The prosecutors in Hague have said that they would not investigate for crimes against humanity China committed against the Uighurs.

China is not a party to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Fatou Bensouda of Gambia, the chief prosecutor has said that the abuses “have been committed solely by Chinese nationals within the territory of China.” Therefore, the court has denied to conduct any further investigations against the case.

According to an article in Times of India, Uighur Muslims are dissatisfied with the court’s decision. They were seeking to get justice with the help of international law and hold Beijing liable for the crimes. They have vowed to punish China for the crimes.
