Kathmandu. February 6. While speaking with the CBC News on Friday, US President Joe Biden opined that his predecessor Donald Trump should not receive intelligence briefings.

It is customary for the previous presidents to receive intel briefings. But, since Trump is awaiting a senate impeachment trial on charges of the US capitol riot, “I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings.” said Biden.

On January 6, Supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, vandalizing and forcing proceedings to count Electoral College votes cast in the 2020 presidential election to halt.

A week later on January 13, Trump was impeached for the second time by the U.S. House, charged with “incitement of insurrection” over the deadly riot that left 5 dead and several arrested.

Biden noted Trump’s “erratic behaviour” might cause him to slip and say something unacceptable. “What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all” said Biden.
