Nepal Women’s Cricket Team Announced for ACC Women’s Premier Cup

Kathmandu, Feb 6: The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has unveiled the 14-member squad set to represent Nepal in the upcoming ACC Women’s Premier Cup scheduled to take place in Malaysia from February 10 to 18. Under the leadership of captain Indu Burma, the team is geared up to showcase their prowess on the international stage.

The Nepal Women’s National Cricket Team roster comprises Indu Burma (Captain), Bindu Rawal, Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar, Kajal Shrestha, Pooja Mahato, Sangeeta Rai, Apsara Begum, Kavita Joshi, Kabita Kunwar, Yakkan Khadka, Roma Thapa, Dolly Thapa, and Ashmina Karmacharya.

The coaching and support staff include Manoj Katwal as the head coach, Janaki Bhatt as the assistant coach, Kamala Shrestha as the physiotherapist, and Ambika Budhathoki as the team manager, ensuring comprehensive guidance and support for the players.

The ACC Women’s Premier Cup features a competitive lineup including teams from Thailand, UAE, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Myanmar, Bhutan, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Singapore, Japan, Qatar, and Maldives alongside host Malaysia.

Nepal finds itself in Group D alongside Hong Kong, Maldives, and Bhutan. The team’s fixture schedule includes matches against Hong Kong on February 10, Bhutan on February 11, and Maldives on February 13, setting the stage for thrilling encounters as they aim to make their mark in the tournament.

Notably, the stakes are high in this competition as the winner and runner-up will secure berths in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2024, while the semi-finalists will earn spots in the ACC Women’s Emerging Asia Cup 2025, offering added motivation for teams to excel on the field.
