Science
There was once a girl
Who had questions about the world
Mainly, who called the shots?
Indeed, questions, she had lots
And they were good questions, too
What makes the sky blue
And fire hot?
But sadly, answers she never got
That was until she encountered science
It offered her the perfect kind of guidance
Answers answers galore!
She felt the need to learn more, more, more!
Now she is a girl who learns more by the day
And owes it all to science, which paved the way
We Are All Gold
Some days I feel like a used tissue
Dejected and worn out
Practically useless
On other days I feel like gold
Shiny and priceless
Cherished by many
But every day,
I feel uncertain
Who am I?
Who am I trying to become?
Why do I try to impress those around me when they already know my worth?
I wanted to reach the top
To show everyone that I’m something
That someday I’ll shine
I didn’t realize
There is nobody to impress
Everyone around me knows
I’m gold
Every day
Not just some
Everything I needed
Everything I sought
Was there all along
I was blind
But I’ve opened my eyes
I can see now
I’m not the only one who’s gold
Everyone around me is gold as well
We’re all gold
Everyone is shiny and priceless
Each one of us is worth something
We all have a purpose
We are all important
We are all GOLD
Dancing in the Rain
Come out of your shell
See what you’ve never seen before
Don’t wait for the sun to come out and guide you
It may never come
Instead, when it rains
Let yourself get wet
Appreciate the rain for growing so many beautiful things
Don’t wait for the sun to rise again
Learn to dance in the rain
Dance like there’s no tomorrow
Because there might not be
And if that is the case
Be proud of yourself
You knew the sun may never come
And you didn’t care
